Biography

Mr. Konstantinos Magkaniotis is head Electromobility Section of Metering Systems Division at the Network Department of Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO). He studied Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)
and holds a Master’s Degree in Automation Engineering. He has more than 10 years of experience in engineering and project management for Metro, Railway, Road, Airport & Security Systems in Greece and internationally.

Mr. Magkaniotis joined HEDNO on 2011 and was assigned the coordination of the technical teams for metering inspection, localization of damages at underwater/underground LV/ MV cables and maintaining medium voltage protection systems at Department of Islands Region.
From 2013 until today, he joined the team of the Metering Branch at the Network Department, with main responsibilities in the fields project development, technical specifications of metering equipment (in compliance with national legislation and EU
directives and adaptation of new technologies), technical evaluation of proposals, monitoring and supervision of metering systems projects. From 2018 to 2020, he was appointed as Head of Metering System Sub-Section. From 2020 to 2022, he was appointed
as Deputy Head of Telemetering Operation Section.
Mr. Magkaniotis represents HEDNO in various European research projects related to Smart Grids, Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and E-mobility. He has been appointed, as a representative of HEDNO in the Task Force 2 for E-Mobility of the Technology Committee at
European Distribution System Operators' Association for Smart Grids (EDSO). Task Force 2 mission is to promote EMobility by its smooth integration into electricity distribution network and is focused on guiding EU RD&D, policy and member state regulation to support
this development. Finally, he has been appointed as representative of HEDNO to the Inter-Ministerial National Committee with the aim of promoting electric mobility in Greece.
